How does We Belong make sure that you are LOMLOE-ready?
Competency-based learning
We Belong works on both Key Competences and Specific Competences of the Foreign Language subject. All the units include activities to work on oral and written comprehension and production skills, interaction, mediation, multilingualism and interculturality.
Learning situations
Each unit starts with a question prompting students to reflect on the unit’s topic. The project at the conclusion of the unit entails a collaborative answer to this question, employing the language acquired in real-life scenarios. These projects consistently relate to other curriculum areas, aiming to enhance both digital and linguistic skills, while fostering student autonomy via competency self-assessment.
Formative Assessment
Continuous assessment is present in We Belong in different ways: Through the ‘Assessment tool’, the ‘Final Reflection’ section at the end of the unit in the Student’s Book, or the ‘Self-evaluation’ section at the end of the Unit in the Workbook.
The Cheat Sheets at the end of the project provide questions for students to pay attention while their classmates present the project and prompts them to reflect on their own progress.
