Competency-based learning
Influence Today works on both Key Competences and Specific Competences of the Foreign Language subject. All the units include activities to work on oral and written comprehension and production skills, interaction, mediation, multilingualism and interculturality.
Learning situations
All Influence Today Units open with a What do you think? question that encourages students to think about specific topics. The end-of-unit projects lead students to respond collaboratively to questions, putting into practice the knowledge and language gained from the unit. The Programaciones also offer suggestions to extend these learning situations, linking them to Values, SDGs and cross-curricular content.
Formative Assessment
Influence Today includes multiple formative assessment tools, such as the ‘Final Reflection’ section at the end of each unit in the Student’s Book, or the ‘Self-evaluation’ section at the end of each unit in the Workbook. It also includes ‘Peer review’ activities in the Student’s Book, favouring co-assessment, and the Competence Evaluation Tracker, including colourful and original Evaluation targets for each unit. The Programaciones also offer Evaluation Rubrics for each unit, as well as general Evaluation Criteria Rubrics and Key Competences Rubrics.
