“The food and agriculture sector offers key solutions for development and is vital for the elimination of hunger and poverty”

To end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

According to the World Food Programme, around 135 million people suffer from severe hunger, mainly due to human-caused conflicts, climate change and economic downturns.

The COVID-19 pandemic could now double that number and add an additional 130 million people who would be at risk of severe hunger by the end of 2020.
