Key Competences for the 21st Century Learner

In this special series of online events our authors and ELT experts will explore key methodological concepts from the LOMLOE and share practical tips on how to implement them in the classroom.

Reading literacies: the foundation of effective language learning

Reading is fundamental to our understanding of language and a key competence in developing autonomous learning. What skills are involved in becoming a competent reader in any medium? In this webinar, we will look at three key literacies which are the foundation of developing effective reading skills: visual literacy, critical literacy and information literacy.  Using examples from Lead the Way, we will consider how each literacy contributes to successful reading competence and how we can assess learners in these literacies.
